The Institutes Dr. Schrader are one of the first companies to set up laboratories for testing cosmetics in the People’s Republic of China together with a chinese partner, the Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine (CAIQ).
The joint institute, named Beijing Sino-German Union Cosmetic Institute Co., Ltd. (SGCI), started its work in 2005 and thus became a pioneer for the testing of cosmetics in a market that is now home to over 1.4 billion people.
The institute’s main task is to carry out in-vivo-cosmetics tests on asian skin and hair. To this end, a joint venture was set up in Beijing at the time in order to be able to carry out corresponding studies in China.
The new Managing Director of the Institutes Dr. Schrader, Thomas Meyer, visited the Institute in Beijing on 22.04.2024 together with Director Dr. Mathias Rohr for a scientific exchange. Dr. Weiping Mei, Zheng Hongyan, Liu Juan, Zhu Jianyu, Dai Hanhui and Xu Ge took part from the chinese side on behalf of the SGCI.
