The safety assessment of cosmetic products is becoming increasingly important, and the legal safety regulations are also being continuously modified. According to the EU Cosmetics Regulation, the responsible manufacturer or importer must determine the health safety of his products before they are marketed. For this purpose, he requires a safety assessor who is personally responsible for ensuring that the cosmetic product is safe for human health under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use. This regulation serves as an important instrument of preventive consumer health protection. With the new version of the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC Regulation 1223/2009) of November 30, 2009, the safety assessment has become even more important.

For many years, we have been preparing safety assessments for all common cosmetics: from shampoo to foot cream.
Our safety assessor is a PhD chemist with many years of experience in the field of cosmetics. He has completed and successfully passed a training course certified by the IKW and the DGK. The following contents were part of the extensive additional training:

Exposure of cosmetic products / Percutaneous penetration
Local tolerance, immunology and sensitization
Metabolism, kinetics and structure-activity relationships
Carcinogenesis and mutagenesis
General and systemic toxicology including risk assessment
Reproductive toxicology
Microbiological product safety of cosmetic products
In order to prepare a safety assessment, we require numerous documents. If not all toxicological data are available, we can complete the documents by database research.
If product lines with similar formulations are involved, inexpensive package solutions can also be offered. For this purpose, a preliminary examination of the formulations must take place in each individual case.
